Product information

Product Overview

The NX1P2-9024DT is the smaller of the two NX1P2 controllers: 14 DC inputs and 10 NPN transistor outputs (24 built-in I/O), 1.5 MB program memory, dual Ethernet ports and EtherCAT master — but with 0 synchronous axes, so it is a sequence controller rather than a synchronised motion controller.

This page is written for buyers and maintenance engineers sourcing NX1P2-9024DT as a new part or a replacement. Every specification below is taken from Omron’s own published catalogue data for this model; no third-party or estimated figures are used, and where Omron publishes two different figures for the same parameter, both are shown.

Omron catalogue position: Motion & Drives › Motion Controllers › NX1P. Official catalogue code for this model: NX1P2-9024DT.

Why Buyers Specify This Model

24 built-in I/O in a 124 mm unit

14 inputs and 10 outputs are integrated. The NX1P2-9024DT is 124 mm wide against 148 mm for the -1040DT, and 590 g against 650 g, so it fits a tighter enclosure.

No synchronous axes — 4 PTP axes only

This is the decisive difference from the NX1P2-1040DT. Omron’s catalogue gives 0 synchronous axes and a maximum of 4 PTP axes, with a 1-serial-option-board limit rather than 2.

Same controller performance

1.5 MB program memory, 2 MB variable memory and a 2 ms primary task cycle — identical to the -1040DT. The family’s engineering environment and instruction set are the same.

Dual Ethernet plus EtherCAT

Communication ports are EtherCAT Master, EtherNet/IP and Ethernet TCP/IP with 2 Ethernet ports.

Lifecycle & Availability

Omron’s official product data for this model carries no end-of-production or discontinuation notice — it is listed as a current catalogue item. That is the lifecycle status as published by Omron, not a stock statement on our side.

Availability, condition of supply and lead time are quoted per enquiry because they depend on quantity and on where the goods are held. Tell us the quantity and the date you need it and we will answer with a firm position rather than a promise.

Official Documentation

These are Omron’s own documents for this model and its family. Download them directly from Omron’s document server:

Full technical detail — conversion periods, wiring diagrams, derating and installation requirements — is in these documents. If you need a specific figure we do not show here, ask and we will point you to the exact page rather than paraphrase it.

Matching Accessories and Spare Parts

The list below is Omron’s own accessory and spare-part association for this model — the parts Omron itself couples to it for commissioning and for maintenance. Buying them together avoids the usual problem of a spare unit arriving without the bracket, key or battery needed to run it.

Ordering This Part

Send us the full catalogue number NX1P2-9024DT, the quantity, your delivery address and the date you need the goods. If the part is a replacement, attach a photograph of the existing unit’s nameplate — it removes any doubt about the revision, the output type or the supply voltage, which are the three things that most often cause a wrong part to be shipped.

We do not publish stock, condition or lead time as fixed figures here, because they change: they are quoted per enquiry against the quantity and date you actually need. If a machine is down, say so and give us the required window — that is the information that determines how we source it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose the -9024DT or the -1040DT?

Choose on motion, not on I/O count alone. If the machine needs synchronised EtherCAT axes — electronic gearing, camming, coordinated multi-axis motion — you need the NX1P2-1040DT (2 synchronous axes). For sequence control with simple point-to-point positioning, the -9024DT is the correct and cheaper fit.

Can synchronous axes be added later?

No. Synchronous-axis capability is a controller hardware attribute, not a licence or a software setting. Decide it at selection time.

Does it talk to the CJ I/O I have?

The NX1P2 is a Sysmac NX-era controller; existing CJ-series I/O is a different bus. Confirm your I/O migration path with the enquiry — this is exactly where a naive CPU-for-CPU swap goes wrong.

Availability?

Current production per Omron’s official catalogue data.
