Product information

Product Overview

The NJ301-1100 is an Omron Sysmac NJ-series machine automation controller — a 4-synchronous-axis EtherCAT motion controller with 5 MB of program memory, 2.5 MB of variable memory and a 0.5 ms primary task cycle, programmed in Sysmac Studio.

This page is written for buyers and maintenance engineers sourcing NJ301-1100 as a new part or a replacement. Every specification below is taken from Omron’s own published catalogue data for this model; no third-party or estimated figures are used, and where Omron publishes two different figures for the same parameter, both are shown.

Omron catalogue position: Automation Systems › Machine Automation Controllers › NJ3. Official catalogue code for this model: NJ301-1100.

Why Buyers Specify This Model

4 synchronous EtherCAT axes, 15 axes including virtual

Omron’s catalogue gives 4 synchronous axes and a maximum of 15 axes counting virtual axes, with both motion control and sequence control in one controller and a 0.5 ms primary task cycle.

EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP and USB on board

Communication ports per Omron’s data are EtherCAT Master, EtherNet/IP and USB, with up to 192 remote I/O nodes. EtherCAT is the machine-wide motion backbone; EtherNet/IP carries plant-level data.

5 MB program, 2.5 MB variables

Substantially more program memory than the CJ2M class, and the database-connection and CJ I/O Bus compatibility (40 expansion units) that lets a Sysmac controller take over a CJ-based installation.

Where it sits in the range

The NJ301 is the entry machine controller in the NJ series; the CJ2M end-of-production date of 31 March 2027 is what makes this family the standard forward path for CJ2M users.

Lifecycle & Availability

Omron’s official product data for this model carries no end-of-production or discontinuation notice — it is listed as a current catalogue item. That is the lifecycle status as published by Omron, not a stock statement on our side.

Availability, condition of supply and lead time are quoted per enquiry because they depend on quantity and on where the goods are held. Tell us the quantity and the date you need it and we will answer with a firm position rather than a promise.

Official Documentation

These are Omron’s own documents for this model and its family. Download them directly from Omron’s document server:

Full technical detail — conversion periods, wiring diagrams, derating and installation requirements — is in these documents. If you need a specific figure we do not show here, ask and we will point you to the exact page rather than paraphrase it.

Matching Accessories and Spare Parts

The list below is Omron’s own accessory and spare-part association for this model — the parts Omron itself couples to it for commissioning and for maintenance. Buying them together avoids the usual problem of a spare unit arriving without the bracket, key or battery needed to run it.

Genuine spare parts

Ordering This Part

Send us the full catalogue number NJ301-1100, the quantity, your delivery address and the date you need the goods. If the part is a replacement, attach a photograph of the existing unit’s nameplate — it removes any doubt about the revision, the output type or the supply voltage, which are the three things that most often cause a wrong part to be shipped.

We do not publish stock, condition or lead time as fixed figures here, because they change: they are quoted per enquiry against the quantity and date you actually need. If a machine is down, say so and give us the required window — that is the information that determines how we source it.

Frequently Asked Questions

NJ301 or NX1P2 — which should I choose?

The NJ301 is a dedicated controller with no built-in I/O and up to 15 axes; the NX1P2 combines controller and I/O in one unit but with 0 to 2 synchronous axes and a 2 ms task cycle. Heavy motion goes to the NJ301, distributed machine control with modest motion goes to the NX1P2.

Does it run existing CJ2M programs?

No. Sysmac Studio is a different environment and CJ2M ladder must be converted and re-validated. The CJ I/O Bus compatibility means the I/O hardware carries over, not the code.

What panel space and weight?

90 mm wide, 96 mm high, 150 mm deep, approximately 530 g per Omron’s official catalogue data.

What goes with it?

Omron lists NJ-PA3001 (100–240 V AC) and NJ-PD3001 (24 V DC) power supply units as the matching supplies, plus GX-JC03/JC06 EtherCAT junction modules and HMC-SD493 4 GB SD card. See the accessories section.

Availability?

Current production — no discontinuation notice in Omron’s official catalogue data.
